Strengthening the Local Economy
The Chamber’s most important function is job creation. Supporting job creation plays a large part in the Chamber’s commitment to the economic revitalization, growth and prosperity of Tacoma-Pierce County. Forming strategic partnerships, keeping abreast of news and information that impact business interests and staying on the forefront of issues like job retention, expansion and attraction are just a few ways the Chamber constantly works behind-the-scenes for member businesses.
Our goals reflect what is needed for the continual growth of our local economy:
- Aid in job creation for Pierce County
- Retain, expand and attract businesses to Pierce County
- Be a resource for economic information
- Serve as convener of South Sound economic entities for effective partnering with the jurisdictions and stakeholders
- Communicate the value and benefit of business
- Expand opportunities for Pierce County’s small businesses
- Expand the Chamber Divisions’ Frederickson/Parkland/Spanaway, University Place/Fircrest and Greater Tacoma business communities
